Buying a Used Cadillac in the 919

Cadillac depreciates faster than most luxury brands, which is bad for first owners and very good for used buyers. A 3-year-old CT5 typically trades at 55-65% of its original MSRP. The XT5 follows a similar curve, often losing 40-45% in the first 3-4 years. The Escalade is the exception - it holds value like a truck because it basically is one (shared platform with the Chevy Tahoe/GMC Yukon). Used Escalades retain 65-75% of their sticker unless they're high mileage.

Maintenance costs are lower than German luxury because Cadillac uses GM platforms and parts. Any GM-certified mechanic can work on a Cadillac, and parts are domestically sourced. The 2.0T engine in the CT4, CT5, and XT4 is the same family as the one in the Chevy Malibu - proven and cheap to maintain. If you want the look and features of a luxury vehicle at roughly half its original sticker, Cadillac's depreciation curve is your friend.
