Used Wagons in the 919

Wagons are the smallest category on 919 dealer lots - most dealers carry 1-3 at a time. The Subaru Outback dominates the segment with standard AWD and 8.7 inches of ground clearance, which makes it more of a crossover alternative than a traditional wagon. Volvo V60 and V90 wagons show up occasionally and hold their value well. The Volkswagen Golf SportWagen (discontinued after 2019) is a sleeper pick - 30+ MPG, available AWD, and a tight chassis.

Because wagon inventory is thin, they tend to sell quickly when priced right. Set up alerts with 919 dealers if you know you want one - waiting for the right Outback or V60 to show up is better than settling for the wrong crossover. Wagons sit lower than crossovers and SUVs, which gives them better handling and lower wind resistance. The tradeoff is less ground clearance (except the Outback) and a lower seating position. If that works for you, wagons are hard to beat for cargo-per-dollar.
